A - Replacement on/off switch for Shopsmith Mark V headstock 1953-1991
The standard on/off toggle switch used by Shopsmith on Mark V headstock from 1953 up to early 1992 needs to be replaced when it fails to energize the motor due to accumulated dust or worn internal contace, or if the terminals become loose and short against each other. I have been replacing them with the switch shown in all my repairs on these machines. It is a simple rocker switch. It fits the round hole in the headstock casting perfectly. It is rated for continuous use, 20 amp, and is a double pole, single throw switch with 4 tab connectors on the back. This switch will not work on headstocks newer than 1991, for those, see my other switch for sale here in this web store.
See the video for how to replace it on my web site.
